Nexus Circular – Senior Legal Contracts Manager

The Atlanta plant is the first of many plants for Nexus and is where we currently operate the company’s initial commercial production facility. The Atlanta plant is doubling its capacity over the next 12 months with its next generation technology as well as extensive growth in the Company overall with the building of new sites.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Legal Contracts Manager to oversee the negotiation and completion of all key business contracts, with a focus on suppliers, vendors, and engineering services.

This role reports to Nexus Circular’s Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop adequately balanced risk profiles through contract strategy and ongoing contract management.
  • Implement the necessary processes and procedures required to develop and contract each plant for its equipment and services.
  • Oversee that projects comply and follow standard processes and procedures while developing or executing each project.
  • Detailed contractual assessments across all disciplines in plant construction execution.
  • Anticipate contractual and commercial risks, opportunities and threats to each project and implement control measures or actions.
  • Maintain value adding relationships with all contractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate all internal legal, insurance and procurement activities for projects and the company.
  • Monitor contractor performance in projects, to ensure quality, H&S and cost targets are met and projects are implemented in a manner consistent with the contract terms and with sound commercial and risk management principles.
  • Lead, with support from external counsel, the corporate secretarial and regulatory requirements

Management of Supply Chain strategy:

  • Securing sufficient manufacturing capacity in accordance with programs and budgets.
  • Devising the most economically advantageous multi-contract solutions.
  • Ensuring procurement best practice and sound risk allocation principles are maintained.
  • Provision for management of interfaces across several concurrent supply chain; and
  • Taking account of changes in technology or industry practices
  • Encouraging supply chain growth, where required in appropriate geographical areas.

Project insurance management:

  • Responsible for developing and coordinating project insurance strategy
  • Ensuring that the contracting strategy takes account of best industry practice for insurance and risk management and is properly coordinated across the project supply chain and contracting arrangements.
  • Develop compliance framework and ensure all activities within the project are undertaken in compliance with policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contractual strategies, commercial parameters and contractual terms and conditions.

Education

  • Degree and professional qualification in relevant discipline – Contract Management, Legal Studies, Law, Juris Doctor, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Construction Management, etc.

Experience

  • Petrochem/specialty chemical procurement contracts analysis.
  • Experience negotiating contracts for engineering or construction services.
  • Experience working on complex multi-discipline projects.
