The Atlanta plant is the first of many plants for Nexus and is where we currently operate the company’s initial commercial production facility. The Atlanta plant is doubling its capacity over the next 12 months with its next generation technology as well as extensive growth in the Company overall with the building of new sites.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Commissioning Engineer to join our team and support the development of engineering and construction packages for facility expansion and buildouts and lead the simultaneous commissioning efforts across the organization. The role will be accountable for the safe, efficient commissioning of the various new chemical production facilities that are built over the next several years.

This role reports to Nexus Circular’s Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commissioning activities across several locations simultaneously.
  • Train/develop commissioning teams that will be deployed to the new facilities to manage onsite commissioning.
  • Build commissioning procedures, task sheets, and acceptance criteria for handover of completed systems and to ensure comprehensive commissioning operation.
  • Align with PSM requirements for PreStartup Safety Reviews.
  • Maintain and hold team accountable to safe execution of commissioning schedules.
  • Implement accountability measures, reporting mechanisms and corporate benchmark metrics to enforce effective utilization and integrity of automated tools and systems.
  • Monitor, and maintain financial reporting metrics related to commissioning activity.
  • Regularly provide commissioning updates to local leadership teams and HQ Executive Team.
  • Build out new commissioning teams to support each new construction location.

Requirements

Education

  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • 10+ years experience leading large-scale commissioning activities
  • Experience commissioning greenfield chemical manufacturing facility
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment
  • Experience working in multiple functions
  • Experience building task-sheet based commissioning schedule
